Do belts work?
The hubby's is not sure the belt theme I'm rocking the season is working. I'm debating this as well. I think it works in some cases (see snuggy chic), but maybe not here with the vertical stripes. Friends, don't be gentle. Give me the truth.
I really like the snuggy chic look, because I think belts look good with longer tops. With this outfit, though, I think the stripes + short sweater + belt is too much. Please keep in mind that I have a belt bias. I own exactly two and I use them as a purely functional item - keeping my pants up.
I'm gonna buck the trend here... I like it. But, I also own a lot of belts and wear them. For us short, busty gals - belts help create a good curvy shape - but we have to be judicious or we can look like mattresses tied in the middle (you don't). A longer sweater may have balanced the thickness of the belt more?? But remember who is writing this comment, a woman who has suitcase full of belts under her bed and has been known to pair stripes with leopard.

ReplyDeleteI agree. Snuggy chic, yes. Belt with stripes, no.
ReplyDeleteBelts over sweaters remind me of Michelle Obama, which I am neutral about

ReplyDeleteI think I often create the tied mattress affect with belts and I'm not sure I'm ready to look like Michelle Obama.
